What about the status LED indicator on the top? Is the Wi-Fi indicator illuminated to indicate the radios are transmitting?

Have you logged in to the user interface and renamed the Wi-Fi SSID, or did you leave it the same as printed on the label on the back?
Did you configure the router using the mobile application or use a web browser through a computer?
Computer would be best. Within the user interface there is a place to turn the Wi-Fi on/off. You should toggle it on/off a couple of times and reboot your router.
Keep in mind the router broadcasts the Wi-Fi signal, the client devices do the connecting.

1-left everything the same as label
2-mobile ap cud not find the router...web interface wud not connect w 192.168.1.1
3-cud not get to the Wifi on/off setting in the router...rebooted the router at least 5-6 times
4-understand Wifi broadcasts...but no device (listed earlier) cud find the router...THUS...
I've about decided the Wifi radio is defective... what do u think?
NOTE: I've been dealing w PCs since 1986, keep in mind the IBM PC-AT came out in 1984...lol...I've never tried this hard to get something to work in over 15 years (I'm 72 now)...I thot I had just lost my touch, but I took an older R6100 Router I previously had in service years ago and made it work without changing anything on the Centurylink modem :).
Wud welcome your insight, Thx again and God Bless!

There is a very real possibility the Wi-Fi radio on your router is defective.
Stay away from the mobile application. Nothing but problems will result if you don't.
The world of Wi-Fi and home networking has evolved significantly since 1986 and the world wide audience of bad actors has multiplied many times.
I passed through 72 some time ago. Please turn on your spell checker.
Your first priority should be to get access to the router user interface using a windows computer and Ethernet cable. Does you windows computer have an Ethernet port?
