Netgear RAX40 WEP2 with WEP3 mode
Does anybody know if there is an option to enable both WEP2 together with WEP3 at the same time in Neatgear RAX40v2 ? It would be very useful as there are always devices which can use only WEP2 but I...
I opened a support ticket and I received information such a mode will be added in a future firmware although date is unknown so far.
There is a newer firmware update for the RAX40v2. It is 1.0.3.96. The release notes don't mention anything about WPA2+WPA3 but since Netgear doesn't document anything very well there could be an enhancement for your issue as well.
I have a RAX35/RAX40 version 1. After months and months of waiting Netgear finally released a seemingly stable firmware version which included working AX functionality and also WPA3 with WPA2+WPA3. Odd that the version 2 of the RAX40 does not include it.
I noticed in the user manuals that the version 1 model does document setting up WPA2+WPA3 where the version 2 model document only documents WPA3 setup. So I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for an update to provide WAP2+WPA3 on the RAX40v2 since it apparently was never intended to be a functional option. It that feature is not documented on the box, technical specs document, or user manual then you don't have any leverage about the missing feature. That's just my opinion based on experience.
I had problems with WPA2+WPA3 on the version 1 model where some older WPA2 devices could not connect when using WPA2+WPA3. They connected fine with just WPA2 mode.
