Netgear RAX40 wifi keeps disconnecting

The wifi on this router constantly disconnects and has lousy coverage. I mean, every 15 seconds or so my phone's wifi signal drops. Frankly, this router has been a POS since I bought it. A complete waste of money. My 10 year-old router was infinitely better, more stable, and had better coverage. Get that! But I'm stuck with it.

I'm on Firmware Version V1.0.4.102_1.0.1. I've seen older posts about dong a factory reset and going to a firmware like 1.3. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    How long have you had it? 

    What modem/gateway is it connected to? 

    Is it a specific device having issues? Or all devices? 
    Do wired devices have issues?

    Are you using smart connect? If so, disable it. Then connect devices to each band to see if its a band specific issue.
