Netgear RAXE500 cutting speed in half on LAN ports
I have 1.2Gbs service through Xfinity. Coming off back of modem (Netgear cm2000), I get around 950Mbs download. When I run that to the Multi-Gig port of the RAXE500 router, I can only get around 450M...

I use speedtest.net
The reason I chose the Mult-Gig port was it was my understanding that the internet port is limited to 1gbs anyways. Am I incorrect ? Would hooking the modem up to the internet port (changing the settings in the router as well) allow full throughput on the multi-gig port?
I know ports 1-4 are only gigabit, but I would think I should be able to do better than 450Mbs off of them?
The router doesn't have very clear instructions, so it could possibly be a mistake on my part. I will get the firmware version when I get home.

You should be able to hit gigabit speeds of the 2.5gig port.
I've done the same cm2000-->RAXE500 and didn't have an issue hitting gigabit +
Try several servers on the speedtest. net site. its not as common as it used to be but once in a while you'd hit a bad test server.

so should I connect from my modem to the internet port, then connect the mult-gig port to my computer?
Or should the modem come into my Mult-gig port?
I'm just looking to be able to obtain close to gigabit speed for my hardwired computers

Go from the cm2000--->2.5gig port on the RAXE500
You should be able to hit gigabit speeds on the gigabit ports and still have capability for more.
I used to have it setup that way and would be able to hit 1200mbps over the 5ghz/6ghz if I was right next to the router with a AX210 wireless card.

That is how I currently have it set up, but I am not hitting anywhere close to gigabit speeds on any of ports 1-4. The wired network performance is what I need to work the most.
I'm not sure what else it could be. Maybe it has a bad firmware version. I will definitely post that when I get home
