I currently have two Netgear routers. One we are using at the house the second one we just purchased to use in the barn. I have run a ethernet cable to the barn and attached it to the existing router....

Go to the DOWNLOADS section at the top of this page, feed in the model number of your router and download the user's manual. In the manual look up the section for how to configure the router as an access point. Configure the barn router as an access point. When done, pull the power cord on the access point device, connect the Ethernet cable back to the router in the house, and then power up the barn router and let it boot.
