I assume that those are all wired connections and you have two connections to the outside world?
As it is, the Contour box and TV don't appear to have any connection to the RAX49.
If so, the RAX49 it won't be involved on whatever problems you have with the TV connected to the Contour box.
The only way to get that involved would be to plug the Contour box into the RAX49.

That is a simple modem. No router bit to get in the way.
The RAX49 may have spent some time between coming off the production line and reaching you. There is a good chance that it does not have the latest firmware. The first move with any device like that is to check for the latest firmware. Even if the device itself claims "no new firmware available", I wouldn't believe it.

All wired connections - two connections - living room, computer room.
Correct - TV and Contour box have no direct connection with the router
"...the RAX49 it won't be involved on whatever problems you have with the TV connected to the Contour box" - Understand
Using the router app on my iPAD and it did say it was up to date.....so how do I check to see if that is true, and if not, update the router?
"That is a simple modem. No router bit to get in the way." Sorry I do not understand the comment.
Thanks again,
Bob

I am surprised that your network works with that arrangement. It is unusual to have an Internet connection that allows users to connect two different networks.
But without a make and model number I don't know what this magic Contour box does. So I am left guessing.
Most media streaming devices connect to the Internet through a router. Sometimes that media device is also a router.
Any network that tries to combine two routers – such as RAX49 and a media router – runs the risk of conflicts between the two. This is Netgear's explanation of this:
What is Double NAT? | Answer | NETGEAR Support
It could be that this is why you have problems with the TV connected to the Contour box, but that seems unlikely if other devices work as expected and they are connected through the same box.
Using the router app on my iPAD and it did say it was up to date.....so how do I check to see if that is true, and if not, update the router? If this is the Nighthawk app, it isn't reliable. People often turn up here saying they have "the latest", but the app can miss new firmware.
If you go into the app, head for the Settings and then Router Settings bit, you should see a Firmware Version.
Compare that with the number of the support pages for your device:
Nighthawk RAX49S | WiFi 6 Router | NETGEAR Support
I can't find a RAX49, so I assume that this is what you have. (Look on the label.)
There is a link in the downloads section to the latest firmware:
RAX49 Firmware Version 1.1.3.18 - NETGEAR Support
If that is the same as the app shows for your router, you are up to date. If not, follow the instructions to update it.
"That is a simple modem. No router bit to get in the way." Sorry I do not understand the comment. Many modems also include a router When that happens you can end up in the "Double NAT" territory (see above).
The bottom line is that if your troublesome TV is not connected to the router, it isn't likely to cause any problems with your Internet connection.
You should ask whoever makes the Contour box or the Bravia why they don't like Paramount+.
But as I say, I am just guessing about the nature of this Contour box.If it has a socket on the back that says something like WAN or Internet, that could change things.

Again, not knowing the make and model of the Contour device, it is hard to work out exactly what you have there. (Google is no help.) But it does not look like it contains a combined router. If that were the case you would expect to see more than one Ethernet port.
I would normally expect to see the contour box connected to the RAX49, probably from the Ethernet port in the Contour.
But what is that "cable" connection?
Most cable (and other) Internet services come with a single hole in the wall.
With cable, you then plug a modem into that. The next bit of the chain is a router. (Sometimes those two are in a single combined modem/router device.) Everything else feeds off of that.
As it is, you seem to have two devices (modem and Contour device) plugged into your Internet connection.
If that is how things work at our end, then that is down to how your Internet service provide and how it runs the network.
Again, it seems that the things running from the Contour device go nowhere near the RAX49. So it has nothing to do with any of the problems you have on the TV. You'll have to ask your ISP (Cox), Contour and Paramount+ for help.

A hole in the wall in the living room for the cable connects to the contour box which in turns connect to the TV...... the Netgear router is in a different room and has no connection to the Contour box nor the TV
A 2nd hole in the computer room that connects to the modem which in turn connects to the router.......
The cable in both rooms looks exactly the same to me
Not clear to me that 2 devices are automatically connected to the internet.....when I attempt to watch Paramount ( Nexflix. Hulu) on the TV this message appears - "You are attempting to connect to a 3rd party app".....and it then connects. Not clear that I'm directly connected to the internet or I'm 'connected' via Cox.
Alway thought the problem was Cox but they don't seem too interested in correcting - have found Cox users experiencing similar problems with Paramount over 2 years ago...love monopolies
