network filters and parental controls

For some reason the network filters (reducing websites available) and the websites we had blocked are no longer active on our device. I have tried Genie and "routerlogin.net". Nighthawk app says our router is not compatible. 

Any thoughts on services we can even pay for to bring up more protection for our family internet?
