That adapter is known to have issues with wireless AX. Realtek didn't do a good job of updating drivers to make it work either.
Instead of crippling your router by disabling AX, I'd look at either replacing the wireless card in the laptop or using a usb wireless adapter. Why hold back the rest of your network because of a sketchy adapter.

Try what this user on the forums did:
Seems to have forced a more compatible driver. Might be an option.
That adapter is still pretty low performing so if you're half handy, might be worth upgrading.
