New router wont recognize its connected to the internet

Family just got an RAX50, we tried hooking it up, making sure all cables where in, they were, and we were unable to connect to the new wifi network, we have tried everything, from manually applying the IP address, changing the MAC address, letting it run for a few hours, reconnected it, there should be nothing stopping it from connecting to the internet, yet theres something we must be missing, the Nighthawk app says the router is Offline.

       Why?  New installation?  Replacing some other device?

       For the non-psychics in your audience, who can't see what you have or
    what you did, ...

     

       What, exactly, did you connect to what, exactly?  (Hint: If a device
    has different types of ports, then "connected to device" is not enough
    detail.)

     

       Is there some kind of modem or ONT involved?

       "connect" _what_?


       "unable" is not a useful problem description.  It does not say what
    you did.  It does not say what happened when you did it.  As usual,
    showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
    messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
    descriptions or interpretations.

       Of what?  How?

       I'd shun any Netgear-supplied app, and stick with a web browser.

       I guess that it's hopeless, then.  Unless, ...  Did your "everything"
    include this radical concept (which works for some people):

       Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
    for Documentation.  Get the User Manual (at least).  Read.  Beyond the
    basic set-up instructions, look for the LED descriptions and
    "Troubleshoot".  Pay particular attention to the "WiFi LED"/"WiFi
    button".  Did you press it?  Further reading might not hurt, either.

           Perhaps the next time you ask for help, you should try to imagine
        what it's like for a reader who doesn't know what you're thinking,
        including why you're doing any of this, and can't see what you see,
        including what you did, or what happened when you did it.

         

           I tend to be put off by people who waste everyone's time with
        information-free problem descriptions.  And then fail to answer any of
        the resulting questions and requests for basic information.

         

           For example:
