What wifi chip is the the windows laptop? Many people rely on windows updates or whoever made their laptop to update the drivers and it rarely happens. The older wireless drivers had some issues with wireless AX.

What I'd recommend is finding out what wireless chip is in the laptop, go directly to that manufaturer's website and installing the most current driver for it.

        It’s an intel i7-8550U CPU
A reasonable specification I would have assumed

What does that mean? What are you doing? What messages do you see and where does it go wrong?

plemans is already in the case but you don't help with these terse detail free messages.

You can help people to help you by providing the information suggested in this forum's header:

Subject (Include model number and brief summary)
Model (Recommended - Helps the community give the best answers)
Body (Include additional detail including model version, firmware, OS and environment where relevant.)

They are there for a good reason.

Bad drivers on Windows machines... Disable AX mode on router and Windows computer will be able to join network... that is only way I can get my work PC to connect unfortunately.
