I have noticed that an led modular line tester indicates reverse polarity in phone jacks 1 & 2 of my netgear cm1150v. Normal (OK) phone line would show green. I don't know if this has anything to d...

If so, glad its working even though we don't know what xfinity changed.
You can mark it as solved so others aren't trying to fix it as well

Thanks plemans for your response.
Unfortunately I will not be able to try your suggestion with the modem in the same state as when I posted.
Checked my modem this morning and noticed the the LED's were NOT blinking orange as before. This prompted me to call my wife's cell phone using the VoIP phone and this time the call went through. I was also able to login into my Xfinity account and Xfinity stream from both my iPhone and my laptop, which I had not been able to do before.
Also, the MTA Provision Status on the modem page changed from "Rejected" to "CMS Registered".
I have not been able to find out what Comcast did overnight to change the status; also don't know what "CMS Registered" means.

I really thank you for the key part of your initial response: "the mta provisioning is different than the website issue. The mta provisioning has to be done on xfinity's side... it's part of the provisioning and isn't user changeable."
I never knew what a multimedia terrminal adapter was (and now only very superfiscially) and spent hours trying to find out how to reprovision it!
I went to my local xfinity store and they don't know either. But I several times said that my modem needed reprovisioning and may have noted that in the request for technical assistance he typed in.
Maybe some tech knew.
So, thanks again. Best Regards, Walt-1
