How do I log into the browser? I have the Nighthawk app. What is smart connect?
You log into the browser using its ip address.
Smart connect combines the ssids for 2.4ghz/5ghz into a single ssid. In that mode, they don't show up as separate but the same network. It allows devices to bandsteer between the 2 bands as needed.
- Okay, I assume I can get the IP address from the Nighthawk app? And no, I do not have smart connection enabled, I have several devices that cannot connect to 5G and require a separate 2.4 connection.

If you want to get into the router to change wifi settings, most are outside the app's control. Use a web browser and the graphical user interface (GUI).
You can find the IP address in the app: check the Details button. Most Netgear routers sit on 192.168.1.1.

So my phone and another device are telling me that the password to my 2.4 connection is incorrect even though it is correct in the app, I haven’t changed it, and have numerous other devices connected to it. But my phone can connect to the 5G which is the same password. Doesn’t make any sense. My thermostat all of a sudden was disconnected and I cannot reconnect it. I would think it was the thermostat but since my cell phone gets the same error, that tells me that it’s the router.
