Nighthawk AX6 AX5400 WiFi Router(RAX50v2) - after firmware update! access to local 192.168.1.1 denie
Hello everyone! I hope you can help out on this. I just upgraded my entire network to 1.2 gps and everything was working well until I did a firmware update on the Nighthawk AX6 AX5400. It will allow me to log in with the nighthawk app but it will not let me access the local port of 192.168.1.1. I've power cycled the modem & router 3x already and still cannot access my router locally. It started when I was using multiple machines to access the router because I was logged into another machine which the normal process is to kill that process on the other machine so that I can login to another machine. It was ok for a quick minute and then it started locking me out, so I rebooted the modem and router and I got access again. Now I've rebooted twice and cannot access my local router that directly connected to it via Ethernet cable. I error message I've noticed had the serial number? Can anyone help please. I don't want to have to reset everything because it's a couple of hours of work!
Thank you so much!
Ain't that the truth. LOL Like in many aspects of our lives. 🙄
Ya I prefer to set up using a wired PC too. Can do that mostly in my sleep now days. LOL
Here to help were I can. I'll pass this on to NG and let them know about this as best as I can.
Let us know how it turns out.
I just loaded my RAX50v2. I let the system AU using the routers web page as it notified me that there was an update. Selected update there. After the router processed the update and was back to ready, I saw it had got to the home screen however when I did a refresh in the browser and the Access Denied appeared in box MS-Edge and Firefox. Pressing the reset button in back for 10 seconds then walking thru the setup wizard with a wired PC and web browser resolve this issue. No saved backup is loaded. Access to routers web page is back.

One mentioned powering OFF the router and ISP modem/ONT for 1 minute then back ON.
I'd be sure to clear all browser caches as well before trying to log in. Try a different browswer as well.
Another would be to factory reset and setup from scratch. DO not load a saved backup from file or seems to re-introduce the issue.

One should have these on hand. Helps save time if a factory reset is needed.
Downgrade FW back to what was working.
If any of this fails, you'll need to contact NG support and let them know whats going on:https://my.netgear.com/support/contact.aspx

Then clicking on "Get answers about NETGEAR products before I buy" then clicking on "Networking for Home" then "Chat with us".- rcrserviceAspirant
Thank you for the quick reply. That is my last resort is to factory reset and not load up my backup config. I have been using Netgear for a long time and I am very disappointed. There's another thread that suggest to do a factory reset due to cache being full the NH app allows me to access the router. That teaches me a lesson in don't fix anything not broken but it was a new router and it had a firmware update within a week. Also, the error message I received when accessing the local router has the wrong serial number on it!
Yes along with you and several others whom have already posted about this.
Seems to be a new bug that NG hadn't checked fully before they pushed out to the public.
