Nighthawk RAX40
I have switched to ATT Fiber and using ATT modem and router as my main. I would like to use my Nighthawk RAX40 as an extender in a different room. When I connect the Nighthawk to the ethernet port ...

"extender" is a technical term, and perhaps not the right one.

If you're using an Ethernet cable to connect the RAX40 to your main
router, then I'd guess that what you want to do is configure the RAX40
as a wireless access point (another technical term).
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number,
and look for Documentation. Get the User Manual (at least). Read.
Look for "Set up the router as a WiFi access point".

"published" _where_ "on their website" (which is a pretty big place)?
"not work" is not a useful problem description. It does not say what
you did. It does not say what happened when you did it. As usual,
showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations.
Thank you Guru for sending me a reply and highlighting technical terms. Please go back and read my message because I thought I explained it in the detail about what I was trying to do, but here we go again.
I have an ATT Fiber and would like to retain it as my main router. I would like to extend the range of the ATT router into other rooms in my house and was asking if my RAX40 can be configured as an extender? I was not asking about making it an "access point", I was aksing if it can be configured as an extender so I don't have to use different network names as I move around the house. I searched the web, and the following was posted, presumably by Netgear, but it doesn't work. It doesn't work means I don't have Internet connection when I plug my ethernet cable from the wall to the back "Internet/WAN, yellow color port" of RAX40.

When I connect the cable from my ethernet port to the Internet/WAN port on the back of RAX40, the 2nd LED from the top, on the front panel, shows orange/red color. It means "No Internet Connection"
I have checked the ethernet port and the cable and they are fine because when I connect my Apple TV to this ethernet port using this cable, it works.
So my question is can RAX40 be used as an extender? If so does anyanyone have the correct procedure, because the above procedure (with the link provided) doesn't work. It doesn't work,means I dont' get any internet connection. Is there a compatibilty issue between RAX 40 and Netgear if I want to use it as an extender? Does RAX40 not work as an extender and I have to use it as an access point? Does anyone have the right procedure , in case one exists? Thank you
