Nighthawk RAX43v2 internet port failure

I recently had a lightning storm where afterwards my modem stopped relaying internet. I got a new modem and set up everything easily. When I tried to set up my Nighthawk RAX 43v2 router the internet ethernet port does not register any plug. I have tried changing out the ethernet cable. Every port on the router except the internet one has their corrosponding light turn on. Also every port on the modem sends internet correctly. (I tested by doing a wired connection to a PC for each port). I have done all the resets of power and have done a factory reset on the router. The firmware has been updated to the V1.1.4.28_2.1.46.1 version. The only thing I can think of is that the actual port has gone bad and I need to get a new one. The router is barely a month old though. Am I missing any troubleshooting methods?
