I had one hint that it could be a DNS problem but I don't know how to change that.
Hint from where?

I have tried flushing the DNS but that didn't work . Also tried using Google DNS 8.8.8.8. & 8.8.4.4. Also didn't work.
I will call HP.

I spoke to Tech Support and they discovered that my Asus repeater was causing the problem!
All is working well now, both laptops connected!
Thanks !

Good to hear something positive about support.
Any clues as to what the problem was? It might help someone in the future.

I was using an ASUS router as a repeater which was wired to the RAX70. Apparently the Asus was given an IP address outside of the usual numbering scheme and that resulted in the two laptops being unable to connect to the internet.
Tech support found this problem and as soon as I disconnected the ASUS router everything was able to connect.
They suggested using the ASUS connected to Wi-Fi as an Access Point.
