try reinstalling the firmware on it and then doing a factory reset/reinstall.
If something was corrupted in the firmware, the reinstall will over write that. If something was corrupt in the settings, the factory reset will clear that out.
That's where I'd start.

Thanks so very much michaelkenward plemans for the sensible advice and quick responses. This was my first hiccup on the router in about 5 months of ownership. I did notice that the firmware had also been set to auto-update, and I also changed that. I prefer to look at the change notes before updating, as well as to let other users be the pioneers (the ones with the arrows in their backs <wink>) before jumping to the newest updates (except where high security vulnerabilities exist).
Again, I'm grateful for your help, and will hope this issue is put to rest by following these sound recommendations.
