Nighthawk RAXE500 Dropping Devices on 5G band

My RAXE500 drops devices on the 5G band.  The 2.4 band is up and fine.  There is no info in the logs that anything bad is happening.  I am on firmware version 1.0.10.86_2.0.40.  When I try to update the firmware it states that I am on the most recent version.  I see later firmware versions for the RAXE500.  What is the latest version??  How do I fix the 5G issue without having to keep rebooting the router??  I only have 10 devices on the 5G band.  I keeping reading about others having this issue as well as issues with Netgear firmware versions.  How do I proceed???

You are correct, there is more recent firmware for your RAXE500.

Avoid the mobile application and avoid the automatic firmware update option in the user interface.

Experienced users download the firmware from the Downloads section at the top of this page.  Feed in your router model number and it will take you to a page where you can download the most recent firmware.

Instructions for manual update of your firmware can be found here:

    https://kb.netgear.com/23960/How-do-I-manually-update-the-firmware-on-my-NETGEAR-router

Recommend you connect a computer to your router via and Ethernet cable, use a web browser, and access the user interface for the update.  If not possible, connect a computer to your router via a Wi-Fi connection.

I will try the manual firmware update later on when everyone is asleep.  This router is 2 years old and for the cost, should not be having these issues.  Hope it works.  Thanks.

I did the factory reset a month ago.  Problem still persists.
