Nighthawk X6S update timing out

You can manually update the firmware. go to negear.com/support/ and you can download the firmware. extract it. Then manually install it.
I find this method to be the safest for updating firmware, I'd also encourage you to do it over a hardwired connect for best results.
Makule, perhaps the Netgear Status Page, which “provides a real-time status for key router operations,” might be helpful?

Wow, very good tip! Did what you said, update successful and was done over wifi. Maybe the link to upgrade is broken. The update to my main router worked with the link. Thanks so much.
