My wireless desk top cannot locate NighthawkRAX45 router.

What is the wireless chip/card in it?
Some drivers for wireless devices like intel, tend to have the older drivers off the windows update site or from "dell/hp/etc" that don't actually get updated. So look at what wireless card is in your device, go directly to that device makers website, and get the driver direct from them.
