Not being able to register a RAX80 modem

I bought a used RAX80 from Amazon Warehouse in an "Almost new" condition.

I tried to register the device on the Netgear website with its serial number but it shows as having been registered by its former owner.

Is it possible to ask for a deletion and attribution to my userid? In case how so?
