NTP - Time Server Sync Frequency
Pfter checking my router logs, it appears that the router is synchronising the time with the Netgear NTP server every 30minutes & sometimes only 5minutes after a sync. Is this expected ?? 1 time...

Only set the time twice in a few minutes and no internet reconnections.
It is just very poorly of programing and Netgear should be ashamed of themselves.

Automan you agree the symptomatics of the time sync OP log is different from the one you are observing?

I see no reason why the box should make a NTP request everytime it establishes an internet connection.
Once every 24hours is fine once the time has been set (not the year 1970).
Sloppy programming I guess.
