Orbi mode it integrates with the orbi AC series.
Extender mode it acts as just a triband extender.

I see. As I understand correctly in the end both modes act to extend the existing WiFi network outdoors, which is what I really need. It is unfortunate, that the RBS50Y doesn't use WiFi 6... is there an outdoor extender to use the WiFi 6?
