PPPoE goes on and off
Hello there. I'm trying to setup my RAX40 with PPPoE. I got a connection like a yo-yo... Im typing this on that connection as we speak, but I must watch the "Internet" light on my RAX40 when I submit this. The light goes on, it goes off, repeat. ALL THE TIME! I bought this router for this very cause! To get rid of the crappy one my ISP provided. Yes I get a stable connection with the original provided from my ISP, but it does not have 5gz wifi and the 2,4ghz is "meh" at best. Latest Firmware (Updated it today), no fix. So basically, it goes on and off all the time. I'm located in Norway, isolated on a island so PPPoE is the way to go. I have a 100/30 line so kinda annoying I cant get it to work >_< Send help!

Did you reset the router to factory settings after the firmware flash?
New firmware sometimes introduces changes that are not compatible with the old configuration.
So while it isn't guaranteed to fix problems a factory reset is the first thing to try if you have issues with new firmware.
This is a nuisance because you then have to reconfigure the device all over again.
You can backup your settings before you reset and restore them later. But that may just bring back the fault. Then again, at least you will know if the reset fixed the problem.The factory reset is more a "witchcraft" move than a technically informed solution, but it does seem to fix problems, especially on the wifi front.
It might also help if you told people what the modem is in front of this router. The model number could be useful. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?
The reason for asking is that a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router.
Having two routers on a network can cause headaches. For example, you can end up with local address problems. Among other things, the other router can misdirect addresses that the Netgear router usually handles, such as routerlogin.net or the usual IP address for a router, 192.168.1.1.

- Hello. Factory resetted, no other modem, just the router connected directly to the antenna. Problem is on wifi and cable. Firmware 1.0.2.60_1.0.1
