Something you might check with printer Mfr about.
Check to see if any FW updates maybe needed for the printer.
Might set a IP address reservation for the printer on the router.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try updating the firmware. My printer is so old I can't find firmware on the HP web site, but I'll keep looking. I have already reserved a static IP address for the printer.
