QoS on RAXE500 causes network dropouts
As the title said using a RAXE500 with QoS and downloading applications causes the network to that device drop out. this is using the latest firmware on windows 11 over ethernet with a 900mbps do...

Why are you using QoS?
As the title said using a RAXE500 with QoS and downloading applications causes the network to that device drop out.The speeds you quote – if they are what your ISP delivers – are well above the levels of around ~200 Mbps where QoS is useful.
If anything QoS could slow you down as the router's processors does its stuff.
QoS is for old services where you had to fight to get games to run fast enough.
Have your turned it off to see if the problem goes away?
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 or CAT6A STP depending is recommended.
Are you using the 1Gb internet port or the multi gig port connection from the router to the ISP modem/ONT?
How do you have the QoS configured?
Most 1Gb and high speed uplinks are not in need of QoS features. QoS help benefit lower or lower speed ISP services.

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too? its FTTP using an Openreach box as i am with BT, not sure of the details
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 or CAT6A STP depending is recommended.Using Cat 6E from OTP to the router and cat 5E (through the walls) from the router to desktop.

Steam updates and large OS files mainly.

No the router is almost brand new so that's not been done is there an advantage to that?

That could be the dreaded modem/router HomeHub combination that BT loves, and deters you from using it in modem only mode.
If so, you may have piled router on router, Not usually a good idea.
This explains some of the drawbacks.
