Your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. This would be a double NAT condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the NG router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the NG router gets from the modem. https://kb.netgear.com/25891/DMZ-on-NETGEAR-routers

OK,thanks for all the replies. I have been able to eliminate the Double NAT situation and the service connected and it allowed me to verify a different VPN.
However, after a few minutes, the connection dropped. I attempted to reconnect and got the same error as above. I first confirmed that I’m still getting a public IP from the modem. So I don’t have double NAT. Please advise.

I set the Modem to Bridge mode.
I meant to say that now I have a public IP on the router, (previously it was a private IP generated by the modem, so double NAT shouldn't exist.
But you're right, the behavior on the NG is the same as before.

Hi, Thanks for your help...However I am still getting stuck setting up the PureVPN service.
My current Internet IP address is 190.219.180.42
I continue to get the same error message: WAN connection is not established, please check your networkin...etc
This time I have captured the relevant Logs:

[OpenVPN] VPN Client disconnected, Monday, May 01, 2023 19:53:07They do not provide a whole lot of information. One other thing...Netgear support tried to hand me off to PureVPN, but i argued that the problem was at the connection level, NOT at at the service level.
so they proceeded to ask me to set up the Dynamic DNS service, which I did. So, the logs you see above are after setting up the Dynamic DNS

Just thinking out of the box. What about IPv6? Does your ISP support IPv6? Have you enabled IPv6 in the router configuration?
Are you using a Windows computer? If yes, check under the Ethernet connection in Task Manager and it should show both an IPv4 and an IPv6 address.
I understand the desire to connect your router to the VPN service. Have you tried to connect to your VPN service from a device on your LAN running the PureVPN application?
