RAX 40 Access Point - XBOX series X UPnP Unsuccessfull
Hi everyone,
I recently installed a brand new RAX 40 as access point to improve wifi coverge for XBOX series X and PS5.
The PS5 works fine only with cable connection (in wifi the maximum download speed is 8Mbits)
The XBOX is not going further than entablishing a connetion to the Access Point. After the connection (both wifi and cabled) it displays the following errors:
- Impossible to obtain IP Address
- UPnP not successfull (when IP is obtained)
I tryed:
- setting RAX40 as router and XBOX gets IP address but NAT in Strict due to double NAT (ISP gateway always set as modem/router)
- forwarding suggested XBOX port disabling UPnP and nothing changed.
- removing the access point and connect directly wifi to D-Link Gateway provided by ISP (to ensure that the problem is related to the RAX 40) and XBOX connectivity works great (internet access, NAT open and download speed at 600Mbits)
XBOX community suggests to set the ISP gateway as pure modem using the RAX as router but i can't do that because i use gateway's wifi to cover some house areas.
It seems that access point is somehow messing XBOX connectivity
Has anyone experienced the same issues?
Thanks for help

- derekkageAspirantHello. Can you tell me how you got the RAX40 to work as an access point? I've been trying for days, following all the NETGEAR instructions, & I cannot get connection to the internet with it. I tried the WAN port & the LAN ports, wired connection, & I can't even get wireless devices to connect to the access point even though I can see it on the devices.
