RAX 40 slow upload and download

I have gig service through suddenlink. My cable modem is a Arris Surf 6190. I have checked for channel congestion around here, but cannot seem to improve my speed above 25 MB/s. Clearly I am missing something as I have search this forum over and over again for a solution.

5G

Channel 116 + 120 + 124 + 128(P)

Mode Up to 1200 Mbps

2.4G

Channel 1(P) + 5(S)

Mode Up to 600 Mbps

Firmware Version V1.0.2.46_1.0.1

Model: RAX40|Nighthawk AX4 4-Stream WiFi Router

  • 25 MB/s are 200 Mbit/s - things depend on the wireless client capabilities, too. A 802.11n 2x2 can reach about these numbers for example. Provide more information.

I get gig (1000 but really closer to 950) out of the wall and modem as confirmed by both me and the internet provider.

When attached to a router my speed drops to that 25/200 number. I’m not expecting 1000 but it can’t be right that with a Ethernet connection I’m only getting that 200 number.

There was no word that it's a pure Ethernet connection - lots of WiFi config info indicated you try a wireless connection client-router.
