Rax120 Dialup Speeds After Firmware Update to v1.0.1.128
Words cannot express my frustration right now. After upgrading the firmware, my router now gives me dialup speeds when I used to get 450/450. NOTHING else in my homenetwork changed except updating this router.
I have read other posts about firmware updates degrading service. I never thought I would be one of them. Even after reverting back to my previous firmware, my speeds haven't increased. In my over 20 years of having routers, I have never experienced any change in quality of service after a firmware upgrade.
I would trash this router if I didn't pay so much for it thinking that at least a hgh price would sheild me from simple firmware upgrade fails. And this router is in AP mode. So, it's not like it has to do much other than provide a wireless access point.
ANy idea how to get this route back to sanity after a failed fireware update?

PS. The speed test (From Nighthawk app) is from the router to my upstream router.
Before the update v1.0.1.128:
(WIRED) Rax120 450/450mbps <-> Upstream Router <-> FIOS ONT.
After the update:
(WIRED) Rax120 4/2mbps <-> Upstream Router <-> FIOS ONT
After reverting back to v1.0.1.122
(WIRED) Rax120 4/2mbps <-> Upstream Router <-> FIOS ONT

If it was a failed update, rather than a successful update that delivered an unwanted result, then you can try the update again.

The second option is to reset the router.
New firmware sometimes introduces changes that are not compatible with the old configuration.
So while it isn't guaranteed to fix problems a factory reset is the first thing to try if you have issues with new firmware.You can reduce the hassle of reconfiguring all those settings by creating a backup of your settings before you reset. Then if something is still broken after the reset, and the new firmware has not fixed it, you can restore the device to its pre-reset state.
You could even try restoring the settings even if the new firmware has fixed the problems, but be prepared for the restore to also bring back your problems.
If none of that works, then revert to earlier firmware using the instructions linked above.

I'm having the same issue after every firmware update. If the resolve is to do a factory reset every time we update then maybe the firmware update needs a firmware update (sarcasm) because it's a total inconvenience regarding this issue. Seriously, I agree with adelphi sky....if I didn't spend a small fortune on this router then I'd throw it in the street and get something else. Fix it!
