RAX120 Multi-Gig Won't Connect to NAS

Hello. I'm trying to connect my Synology 1618+ to my RAX120 through the E10G18-T2 PCI-e card installed on the NAS to the Multi-Gig port on the RAX120. I am unable to get any kind of connection displayed on the NAS, says disconnected. If I unplug the same cable from the RAX120 and plug it into my SX10 switch 10Gbe port, it instantly works. Any help on how to correct the issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Have the RAX120 set up as aggreagation to the SX10. I'm trying to plug the 1618+ into the Multi-Gig on the RAX120. All firmware is up to date.

Contacted support, but was told I would receive a return call in 48 hours.

Hi, There is no word on the Synology E10G18-T2 Specifications that this card is MultiGig capable for handling 2.5GBase-T (that's what the RAX120 port is) and 5GBase-T - only 10GBase-T is listed (interestingly not even the commonly workably 1000MBase-T.

Wrong card for this purpose I'm afraid - not a Netgear issue at all.

  • Hello,

I face the problem excatly same as ~l0whit07~.....is there any way to connect Synology 1618+ to RAX120 through the E10G18-T2 PCI-e card on NAS to the Multi-Gig port on the RAX120 ?

if there is no way to make it happen, any suggestion for other PCI-e card to replace E10G18-T2 PCI-e card ?

    Thanks
