Cables are surely Ethernet.
„And the Multi-Gig ports don't go down to Fast Ethernet.“
Can you specify what this means?
Yes, Salt/Switzerland.

Blame me - both the GS110EMX and the RAX120 Multi-Gig port are "5-speed" so Fast Ethernet should be possible.
But still, if the supposed GbE link does negotiate to Fast Ethernet only ... something is potentially wrong with the cable installation. Was this installation intended for Ethernet, is the cable at least CAT5E or CAT6, or is this a former Telephone installation on T72 (the ol'Swiss PTT standard) wires?

Have no cable tester at hand I guess.... so check the connectors on both ends at least.
- andy73sgJun 04, 2019AspirantHi Kurt, you were right! Checked the cabeling and it turned out that it was a cat5e cabeling where 4 pins were split for Internet and the other 4 pins were split for Telefone. Had it corrected (4 pins from Tel to Internet). Now they communicate, although not at maximum speed due to cat5e. Thanks for the thoughts and ideas. Best! Andy
