RAX120 slow wifi on giga speed internet?
Hiya, I upgraded my internet to gigabit speed. I get that going through the ethernet cable but when i switch to wifi, I seem to be capping around 320 mbps even though I'm 20 feet away from the router...

Advertised speeds, are just that. Advertised. It doesn't mean you'll actually get it over wifi. Especially since your adapter isn't an AX adapter. You're AC adapter isn't going to be faster because the router is AX. It's still an AC adapter.
I have managed to hit gig speeds over wireless but I was using an AX adapter and within 10ft of my router without obstructions.
Not sure exactly what adapter you have but check into speed testing on it to see what its capable of.

I ahd to look up how to check my adapter speeds and I'm directed to look at the wifi status. It says the speed is 866.7 mbps. I'm using the wifi that came built in with the motherboard, Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master.

The 866mbps is link speed, not throughput speed.
Usually throughput is around 55-65% of what the link speed under optimal conditions. This can be less if there's interference, obstructions, etc.

Ok I'm not sure how to check the throughput speed but it sounds like this one cannot handle more than what it's getting and I should look into an AX adapter. Thanks for the help.
