RAX120 suddenly keeps turning SmartConnect ON by itself.

As of the past 5 or so days, my RAX120 has been acting really strange. It’s been working great for years so I don’t understand.

My personal devices are always connected to the 5GHz band (game consoles, laptop, iPhone, etc—much of the rest of the household is on 2.4Ghz depending on the type of device). Suddenly all of those devices on the 5Ghz network will be disconnected. I’ll immediately look in networks on any of my devices and only see the 2.4Ghz network available.

Every time, without fail, I launch the admin page and sure enough I find the green check mark next to SmartConnect—it’s been enabled. I NEVER have nor would enable this as it only ever causes problems.

Has anyone ever experienced this or know why it’s suddenly happening? Any idea of what I should do to fix it? I’ve been lucky so far that it has only happened at times when nobody else noticed because otherwise household members would be melting down and screaming at me to “fix the WiFi!”.

Nothing in the settings have changed, to my knowledge. All I’ve done so far to try to see if anything remedies the issue is enable AX at 80hz (honestly didn’t even realize I didn’t have AX enabled) and switch 5Ghz from channel 36 to 48.

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?

Nobody else has seen this behavior since NG released this version of FW.
