RAX120 (v1) Firmware update v1.2.10.56

Hi all,

Where can I find the documentation of the last released firmware update for my router? My router updated it’s firmware today, but can’t find anything about it…

Nighthawk RAX120 (v1) - EU - v1.2.10.56

The firmware before: v1.2.9.52

I already visited: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/rax120/# - but there is nothing about it to read..

  • FYI, sometimes NG releases new FW out in small batches before releaseing fully to the public. Historically NG would release FW to all and thus breaking users router systems and after some feedback from the community, NG seems to have pulled back on that and gone with a small batch release to guage what a small portion of users will experience, before making the final decision to go full on release. So you maybe appart of a small group that are seeing new FW for there routers. Let us know if you see issues or not and if so, give details to the issues. Try a factory reset and setup from scratch if needed to check issues.

  • I also received this update via Nighthawk app. Just installed it. Also interested in changelog what they fixed but can't find it.

  • I have the same question.  My RAX120 didn't update because I have auto-updates off.  I just happened to open the interface to check on a setting and saw the banner that a firmware update is available.  This is surprising because there's a note on the product page explicitly stating that no firmware updates are planned as the device is "end-of-life."  I can only assume it's a big security bug, but I don't want to updated without release notes.

Up to you to update or not. Will have to wait for it to fully release.

  • Mine updated yesterday while in wireless bridge mode. Checked for new FW and this was found. Updated and continuing to run in bridge mode.

I presume nothing else may have been fixed and just the Security was updated is all.
