RAX120 V2 Constant Random Reboots
The router reboots frequently sometimes every 30 minutes. I have noticed that the router reboots under heavy system load of +50% on the processor. The only way I have been able to drastically lesse...

I too have been encountering this problem on my router. Serial number starts with 6JY. Could someone provide me with the beta firmware for testing please. Thank you

So about 80 days and no reboots whatsoever.
My question is,,, What is the beta firmware "fixing" on this obviously trash piece of hardware?
Seems to me that it's dumbing something down to mitigate the issue.

Hello all, I wanted to come back to report on the BETA firmware. I did not want to come back too early and even though I feel a half a month is still too short to report anything, I felt like people are running impatient and the mods need to know the end result.
I have not had any issues requiring a reboot since I updated and factory reset about 16 or so days ago.
The problem for me was different than most reported here and my issue was not the router "rebooting" but instead it seemed like whenever I requested two devices on my network to download a large file at the same time it would "seize" All the lights on top would act as if nothing is wrong but all network functionality was dead, could not even log into the router. Turning the router off and on again would fix this.
Ever since installing the firmware I have not had this issue anymore.
I however have noticed that sometimes the network runs slower than I expect it should, but I have not noticed enough to complain about, just to mention.. perhaps I am just being overly sensitive to it all now.

Same, makes me think they did something concerning the performance or security of the device to mitigate the rebooting issue.

Yeah even though mine has not rebooted yet I still feel like its not working at top speed. Before I go into further complaining I may do some network testing with both of my routers to see if this one is running any better than my cheap older Asus 63U.

I am very concerned about this process. When I contacted support they advised me not to install FW from the forum.
I understand this could be a case of one department not talking with another or perhaps someone on the inside trying to get this fixed without proper approval but I will will post the response here so maybe it can be handled internally.
Email from Netgear Tech Support:
Good day!
I am sorry if there is a misunderstanding between us. I don't recommend you to install the beta firmware that is going around the forum. Our L2 Department are the one who will give you the file and install it to the router. We in our department don't have an access for the version of the firmware, we just know that there is a beta firmware for this device. We only recommend the customer to install the firmware available in our support site (http://support.netgear.com/product/).
Thank you for choosing NETGEAR.
Regards,
Gay
