RAX20 - Intermittent-DNS lookup
Hello! I recently set up the RAX20 (AX1800) and I have been getting good speed, low and stable ping, and stable continuous transfer rates with the router. Overall very happy and see about 160 to 200 ...
what modem/gateway is it connected to?
do you have IPv6 enabled? Have you tried enabling it?
Another thing is you can try googles dns at 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4
The modem is Technicolor TC4350,
and IPv6 is not enabled.
I'm going to try Google DNS next but it's confusing as to why it should make a difference. I want to understand what the RAX20 is doing differently that DNS lookup would be impacted
We've seen multiple product lines with dns issues. We've also seen windows defaulting to looking up ipv6 addresses first. Thats why sometimes it works if you refresh a time or two.
so both options are worth trying out.
Did you both try the IPv6 option?
- Yes I have IPv6 enabled on my RAX20. Still experience slow DNS lookups.
