It turns out the problem was just that the access controls were set to block all new devices! After switching that off, and granting access, everything works fine.I'm not sure what the point is in having that default to block new devices (I don't remember switching it on myself). I mean, the wifi is already password protected, right?
What modem/gateway is the router connected to?
