RAX200 - Wifi visible but no traffic possible. Randomly daily. Restart works for few hours then.
Hello! Got my RAX200 for over two years now and only since 1-2 months following happens: Wifi is shown on devices but without internet connection (and I can't even connect to the router itself). ...

Thanks to all the thoughts, I'll close this thread and accept the answer - helpful or not.
As I stated multiple times, the LAN-connection via RAX works perfectly, only WIFI is affected but it seems that the modem is the only thing that is on everybodys mind and the only valid explanation rather than looking at the issue itself. This configuration worked for years, with different Netgear products before the RAX and in different locations and all devices (including modem) had been rebooted multiple times.
I know about the network-issues you all describe and I'm familiar with network topoligy. Btw. the router uses DHCP to get a valid IP from the modem and I'm quite sure Netgear can handle this basic network feature without resulting in a "confused" router and even if it would get confused, then there would be NOT traffic possible via LAN (which - again - works perfectly).
At the moment I'm guessing a heat problem, which several other threads seem to show with same issue and even on different RAX-devices if too many Wifi-devices are connected.
Again, thanks for the given support - unfortunately none of which really adresses the real issue with lost WIFI-connection while LAN is working.

Hi!
Yes, router is 10.1.0.1 and the pool is starting from 10.1.0.150; xx.2-xx.149 is only static IP's for NAS, servers, printers, etc. (btw. the LAN that is still working after Wifi problems is NOT static IP but DHCP allocated).
Router-IP at modem-side is 192.168.0.206 at the moment.
Already tried to change the channels. I will try to reduce to one band tomorrow and see how that goes, good idea, thanks!

That‘s the external IP of the Router. 192.168.0.1 is the Gateway.

Well, it seems that cooling is the solution.Changing to 5GHz-1 only with slow Mbps didn't do the thing, same issue.
But I've put the router on an active cooling pad, now it's already 48 hours without any loss of Wifi-connection.
Everything else is the same settings and topology - including my ISP-router and my own IP-settings... - plemansMar 09, 2024Guru - Experienced User
Or maybe the built in fan isn't kicking on, isn't working, has some issue.
As long as the cooling fan works, awesome

Last thing, in all fairness, and
so others with a similar issue get a faster (possible solving) answer instead of endless discussions around the topic without opening to other possible faults)
I must add to the cooling issue:- After cooling it took over 2 days (instead of the usual less than a day) until Wifi was lost as well, so I still did a downgrade of the Firmware (as suggested in many other groups as well). Now it's 3 days already without any issue (still cooling as well though).
I'll still experiment a little bit with various things as soon as some wifi-loss will appear, so far it looks even better than with cooling alone.
Actual firmware in use: V1.0.5.132_1.0.69Router is blown out for dust reasons on a regular basis (with the fan kept steady to avoid damage to the motor!).
