RAX200 and PS5 - Moderate NAT
Hi all, I have my PS5 hooked up to my router. I've set the router to reserve an IP address for the console's mac address, which it obtains everytime. I've used port forwarding to open all the...

The firmware version (V1.0.3.106_1.0.58) which is the latest I believe.
I have a wireless fibre connection which my ISP gives me an IP for my routers MAC address. My router connects directly to the dish.
Thanks for the link, I'll run over them and maybe probe my ISP for a little help.
I factory reset the router last night and used everything default and still had a Moderate NAT in-game. The game itself requires UDP 3074. Whilst I was playing, I logged into the router and it showed on the uPnP port map table that port active and assigned to the consoles IP but it was still moderate in-game.
Thanks for your help.

Everyone's ISP does that. The question is whether your router gets a
public (WAN/Internet) IP address or a private one (which implies another
NAT router between yours and the Internet).

And if we knew everything which was behind your "the dish", then that
information might be more significant. "Necessary but not sufficient."

Good idea. I'd prepare for disappointment.

I'd expect explicit port forwarding or DMZ to do their jobs, too, but
that's not good enough when there's another NAT router in the path.

antinode Apologies for the fluffy details. I'm hitting the limits of my networking knowledge.
Yes my ISP give me a public static IP and they use the least NAT possible on my connection.

the RAX200? (ADVANCED > ADVANCED Home : Internet Port : Internet IP
Address)If you're worried about revealing secrets, then the top half of the
address, "a.b" out of "a.b.c.d", would satisfy most of my curiosity.
Or, plug that address into the form at: https://whois.arin.net/ , and
see if it is a public or private address.- chuckmorr1sFeb 17, 2021Aspirant
My ISP said that they have the least possible NAT on my connection.
