    No, input to the router has to come in through the Ethernet WAN port.

     

    It would not hurt to provide some background on what you are trying to accomplish.

    How does the Internet get to you?

     

    As Kitsap says, you usually need a modem. The only way in without that is if the ISP delivers the Internet over an optical link to your front door. Then you may have an optical network termination (ONT). That will come with a socket that takes a LAN cable like the one that can feed the WAN socket on your router

     

    Anything else needs a modem.
