RAX43 need to disable client isolation

0. I am a networking newbie
1. AX4200 RAX43 is in Router Mode (as delivered, months ago
2. We have several Windows 10 Pro nodes on the same 2.4 frequency and a couple of Macs on media frequency, plus two ROKUs and a ROKU TV
3. I am taking a course that involves sending / receiving UDP packets to/from a RPi Pico 2W microcontroller

4. Microcontroller is unable to communicate with the PC (and vice versa) via wifi

4.1. I tried using "Hercules Setup" to converse from one IP:Port (endpoint) to another, which did not work when connecting from one host to another, but worked well when using two instances of the program talking to each other on 192.168.1.6:4444 <--> 192.168.1.6:4450  (on the SAME host, not "localhost").

4.2 I opened firewall UDP ports 4440-4450 on both intended hosts, both inbound and outbound.

5. A kind soul on another forum asked me to PING one computer from the other computer, which I did, resulting in "Destination host unreachable."
6. Another person suggested that "AP client isolation" was possibly preventing nodes from communicating

7. How do I make nodes on my Wifi network mutually PINGable, given that I have a RAX43 ? I still need the router to provide wifi internet to all the computers; so if I need something other than Router mode, I need to ensure that it doesn't cut anyone off the internet. The Pico has no wired ethernet capabilities, just a wifi section smaller than a dime and a micro usb port

Thanks in advance

  • Do you have Armor or Smart Parental Controls, Protection Engine or Access Controls enabled by chance.

Can't think of anything else that would be blocking on this model router. I don't believe there is a user option to disable any isolation on NG routers. Most NG routers should be accessible between the host devices on the main WLAN and LAN. Guest Network would be the only section isolated from the mains.

Does two ethernet connected devices ping each other while connected to the router?

What FW version is loaded on the router?
