RAX45 Config corrupted after firmware update
Prompted to do firmware update on Netgear admin page. After kicking me offline I noticed the default SSIDs pop up instead of my configuration. Hardwired into my router and lo-and-behold, my settings are all defaulted. Thanks, Netgear! Now I get to set everything up again...
FWIW, I did notice the prompt to update on the Nighthawk mobile app and it failed from there.
RAX45
V1.0.12.120_2.0.83
V1.0.12.120_2.1.46.1
A backup is always a good plan to have. But sometimes firmware changes enough a reset is needed because the old settings can cause issues.
There should be a little more warning in those cases but it happens. Again why a backup is always nice to have.

- Did some more troubleshooting and it definitely seems that the router is at fault. So I suspect the firmware update bricked it. The craziest thing is that the CM1100 modem will stay online until the minute to power up the RAX45. The modem and router won't even be physically connected and both were factory reset.
I cannot console into the router, 192.168.1.1 prompts me to set up a new router in Nighthawk app which perpetually fails because it will detect the router but not the internet. Then the CM1100 goes into a failed dual LAN port solid amber LED error state. It won't recover until I power off the RAX45 and then power cycle the CM1100. It's super weird.
Netgear's firmware update seems to have bricked my router. Unironically, there's a service disruption issue concurrently happening with the newer Costco special router CAX30.
Might be safe to say that Netgear's Costco routers are being malimpacted, or perhaps bricked like in my case. Of course I'm out of warranty so cannot reach Netgear otherwise.
Going to buy another router ASAP and do a swap to test stability. I'll follow up but I feel that Netgear might owe me for this...Might try downgrading the firmware on it.
You can try recovering it with tftp or nmrpflash to put the older firmware on it.
are you on windows? if so, follow this guide
https://kb.netgear.com/000059634/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-router-using-Windows-TFTP
just make sure you enable tftp
https://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-tftp-windows-10
and here's a video walk through using a tftp client. Use the built in one for windows 10 though. the video is more of an example of how its done.

and if that doesn't work, you can try using nmrpflash
