RAX48 5GHz wifi unstable with MacBook Pro M1
MacBook lost internet connection intermittently while connected to 5GHz wifi. No issue with other devices or when MacBook is on 2.4GHz wifi.
When it disconnects, is it attempting to connect to any other network, or is it disconnecting and reconnecting to the same network?
Wanted to also add another test that can be done, though it is not very intuitive, especially since the data collected cannot be shared on a public forum as-is due to debug logs containing all router config data in plain text (including WiFi passwords, DDNS settings, ect.), but if you are okay with dealing with log files, it is possible to collect debug log files by going to the router IP address with a /debug.htm after the IP address.
There you can click on the "Start Capture" button, then wait for the macbook to have the disconnect issue again. After the issue has hpened a few times, you can click on "Save Debug Log" which will stop the logging process and allow you to download the logging data collected as a .zip file.
You can then extract that file to a new folder and view the various logs collected (there will be a bunch for each aspect of the router).
The goal there will be to look through them to see what actions were taking place with the WiFi radio when the macbook disconnected and reconnected.
Things to look out for are any error message, disconnects with no deauth action (indicating the client directed the disconnect), as well as actions such as DFS events where normally if a DFS event takesplace and the AP changes channels for the duration of the DFS event, the clients should follow it but some don't if they have an improper DFS config or if they are set to a different region from the router.
