RAX50 Access Control
In a prior version of firmware, I could navigate to Advanced/Security/Access Control and select "Block all new devices from connecting" on the web management page of my RAX50. This page has since been disabled and replaced with the text "To use Access Control, please use the Nighthwak App." I understand that Netgear appears to be moving towards the app for management, but I don't understand why the web functionity for Access Control has been removed. This worked perfectly fine with previous versions of firmware and I don't want to revert to a previous version due to vulnerabilities. I hope Netgear isn't replacing Access Control with their paid Parental Controls subscription in the future. Am I missing something? The app doesn't provide the granularity of settings that the web does. Thanks in advance.

Yes. It is annoying that Netgear is dumbing down and forcing everyone to use a lightweight app. But Access Control and Parental Controls are very different operations. For a start, they need firmware that supports them. (My R7800 doesn't.) If it isn't already on your hardware, it may never happen.
The real concern is that they will remove something and don't enable it on the app.

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge. Your question is a pretty specific one related to your RAX50 device.
You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.
In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.
You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
