RAX50 AX5400 Dropping Clients - Message that Access Point is temporarily full
My router has been working fine for a long time but suddenly has started limiting clients connected. I have smartconnect enabled but only 14 devices are connecting at a time, including the 5 wired d...

Looking at the Downloads page, that version of FW is relatively new (posted just a few days ago).
If you were not having this issue before the FW update, then it would lead me to believe it is either a bad firmware, or maybe something with the actual update itself.
I would try resetting the router as the first troubleshooting step.
If that does not resolve it, then you may want to factory reset it. Please note that this does not set the FW back to initial firmware, but does clear out all of YOUR settings. Hopefully you do not have a lot of personalized settings (reserved addresses, etc) to recreate. If you do, then make sure you take screenshots of them before resetting so it is easier to recreate. This would still leave you with 1.10.110 firmware.
If that still does not resolve the issue, you may want to revert back to the older version of the firmware (1.0.5.106) and see if the issue goes away. You can find this firmware on the Downloads page. If reverting back to 1.0.5.106 makes the issue go away, then that would appear to point to the 1.10.110 version of the firmware being bad.
Please let us know how these troubleshooting steps worked (or did not work if that is the case), especially if it only goes away by reloading 1.0.5.106.

I just updated the firmware thinking that might help the issues. The issues have happened before for a limited time. When the fiber tech came out and installed the new gateway we could see the signal going in and out. Like the radio signals were cycling. I think took off smartconnect and individually connected devices to the separate radios. That worked for about 3 weeks before it started back up with the cycling. I then I enabled smartconnect again and things settled for about 2 weeks before the most recent series of issues. I am thinking the router itself is bad but maybe a factory reset will clear the demons. I'll post what I find.
Thanks for all of the replies.

Another couple of questions - do you use Smart Parental Control(SPC)?
Are you controlling/changing the router through the Nighthawk App?
I saw another post the other day where someone accidentally hit the "pause" button in the SPC tab on the Nighthawk app, and even though they had it disabled, the same message came up.
Just something to look at.

I do use the SPC but the devices that are giving issues are either in the always on group or the home group and they have no limits. We are down to 2 devices in the controlled group and they aren't having any issues. I have the time limits set for each child and rarely ever deviate with manual "pause" commands. Of course some devices are used in near constant fashion searching and browsing and gaming.
The more I investigate the more I believe there is a sort of interference that is the root cause, but the odd thing is nothing has changed within the setup in years. The router is in my office and up high on bookcase, the living room tv hasn't moved, the learning thermostats and doorbell camera are all in the same place but suddenly lack consistent communication.
I control the settings in both the nighthawk app and with a direct connection (192.168.1.1).
I went back through everything yesterday afternoon and took SmartConnect off and logged everything individually and so far that has helped with some stability.
Is there a setting that would allow an automatic reboot in the overnight hours to help clear the cache regularly, or it that even necessary?
