If you press the home button in the upper left hand corner of the nighthawk app, does it list the device as RAX50 (Connected Locally)?
If the device partially lost configs and the app is trying to do a remote connection, it will likely fail until the router gets a full factory reset either via the reset button being pushed for around 15 seconds, or the factory reset via the advanced menu, though a local connection is likely to work.
If it still does not work, then you may need to do a proper factory reset, since it is not normal behavior for config settings to be lost, and as such, is likely indication of some corrupt NVRAM data (A proper factory reset clear it and loads it with defaults).

I deleted the app and reinstalled it. It sees my router and now makes an attempt to load all the connected devises but gets times out. (Error message - "Request time out. Please try again later. Code:CDIL-API-FAIL".

It says it is connected locally. I will attempt a factory reset UGH. This router has been nothing but issues since day one. Thanks for your input. I will let you know how the rest goes.
