RAX80 and two WAX214 APs network setup

Hi all, I'm new here. I need advice and best methodology to set up our home network. Our home is 3 stories with basement. One WAX214 (C) in Basement, One WAX214 (B) on first floor and RAX80 (A) on second floor. Have a POE Gigabit switch on 2nd floor with RAX80 and approximately 22 wired devices. I would like WIFI internet connectivity to be as transparent as possible across the three devices. The RAX80 would provide DHCP and Spectrum Cable Modem Internet is plugged into it as well.

I have many IOT 2.4GHz devices to connect to the network - approximately 100. I was thinking 10.1.1.0 - 23 for wired devices, 10.1.1.24 to 100 on RAX80 (A) for 2.4 GHz devices, 10.1.1.101 - 180 on (B) for 2.4 GHz and 10.1.1.181 - 200 on (C) for 2.4 GHz devices and 10.1.1.201 - 255 for 5 GHz WIFI.

I am using 5 Amazon Echo devices for routines at this point to control and for some automations - those are 5 GHz I believe.

So.... How do I set up the WIFI network across the 3 devices? Am I on the right track at all?

Thanks for any help you all can offer.

  • What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between router and APs📡 to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

The WAX will be running in AP mode? Not familiar with these models. Do they support Extender mode or just APs? If APs, you'll need to run all 3 items on far apart different channels to avoid noise and collisions.

      Square footage is about 2,800

Distance from Basement AP to RAX80 Router is about 80 feet over POE cable.

Distance from 1st floor AP to Router is about the 30 feet over POE cable.

As to the modes for the WAX214s, I was guessing AP mode for both.
