Hi Guys, I fear I may be about to show my ignorance, please bear with me. I am with Vodafone using a full fibre connection from Cityfibre. Windows11 The system works fine with the Vodafone ...

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended
If your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. This would be a double NAT condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the NG router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the NG router gets from the modem. https://kb.netgear.com/25891/DMZ-on-NETGEAR-routers

3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the NG router to the modem, LAN to LAN configure AP mode on the NG router.

Try option #2 first...
Power OFF both ISP modem and RAXE router. for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and give 30 seconds then ON with the RAXE router...

Hi,
By digging around I believe I have found my problem.
It makes no sense to me, but I have found out that CityFibre/Vodafone require you to tag the WAN port - yes, the WAN port - with 611.
I see no way to do that on the RAXE300. Does anyone here know if it can be done?

Not sure what that means. Over to the network experts.
Have you tried running the RAXE300 through the Internet setup wizard?
Did you try this?
I find it hard to believe that Vodafone has a system that doesn't allow third party routers on to the network.
Is there a Vodafone user community that you could consult?

Yes, I have tried all the methods; using the phone app, also using the "genie" on the browser, and also doing it manualy.
Cityfibre/Vodafone have not made it impossible to use a third party router, but the router must be able to join the Cityfibre network (numbered 911) by use of VLAN, and I am not clear that the RAXE300 can do this.
I believe the reason Cityfibre/vodafone require you to join the 911 VLAN is because they also sell TV services (or they may want to later) and they want to be able to separate the TV services from the normal internet service and they do so by having two VLANs so it becomes necessary to be specific which one you are joining.
It is therefore essential to be able to do this with your router...
I have tried this
https://kb.netgear.com/25724/VLAN-tagging-setup-for-Nighthawk-router#
and I have tried two rules. But neither worked.
Given that Voda/City are all over England this must be happening to thousands of users. But I cannot find a bespoke fix anywhere.
Anyone here know?

Sorry to reply to my own post, but I just got this from the Voda Chat group.
"From what I remember reading before this router doesn't support VLAN on the WAN port.
Three fixes are suggested. You could use the router as an AP behind the vodafone router, connect through a managed switch that does support VLAN, or get another router.
Blunt I know, but there it is."
Is he right?
I am not using this as a an AP behind the Voda router nor am I using a switch - that's clutter and c omp[lexity and I bought this to make things better not worse. If the guy at Voda is right, the router simply won't work and I need a new/better one...
