What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.
What devices do you have all connected?
What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
Be sure to disable any MAC Address randomizers on phones and pads while at home:

Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Smart Parental Controls or Circle, Traffic Meter.
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update? A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch with a wired PC and web browser. https://kb.netgear.com/22697/How-do-I-install-my-NETGEAR-router-using-the-router-web-interface
Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.

I would power OFF the ISP modem for 1 minute. Factory reset the router and power it off. Power ON the ISP modem and let it sync. Then power ON the router and walk thru the setup wizard again using a wired PC and a web browser.

Hi
thank you.
R6700AX
FW V 1.0.14.134
i have reupdated to newest FW.
Channel 11. but also tried 9, 6, - previously on Auto for the past yr without any problem.
tested channel 11, 9, 6, no other wifi in the area using those channels.
dropping of 2.4G started about a day after i connected my Ring Stick camera, but i doubt connecting it to the wifi will cause such a problem. no wifi setting was changed during that time.
The 5G wireless has no problem.
LAN lines have no problem.

I'm having difficulty following what happens.
Your subject says "Losing ability to connect at 2.4Ghz".
What happens when you try? Any error messages? Is it everything apart from the ring camera?
What devices are causing this problem and can't connect?
I agree that adding a camera shouldn't cause problems, but it may not be a coincidence that the issue happened after adding. You might want to rule that out.
You don't say if you have tried the reset palaver.
How do I perform a factory reset on my NETGEAR router? | Answer | NETGEAR Support
The factory reset is more a "witchcraft" move than a technically informed solution, but it does seem to fix problems, especially on the wifi front. It is also the first thing that Netgear support will recommend.

any connection on 2.4G will lose connection - no internet.
includes computers, other cameras, and Ring Central. after I reboot router, everything works again.
then after a couple of days, 2.4G connection does not work again.
in the meantime, computers on 5G & phones on LAN works fine.

What about turning off the Ring Central. What happens then? Your answers aren't clear.
Another question fromn FURRYe38 that you haven't, as far as I can see, answered is the make and model of the modem/gateway/ONT between the router and the Internet.
This answer is important because you may well have something in there that also wants to manage the devices on your network and gets in the way of the R6700. The time lag, two days, is suspicious on that front.

Does the router and 2.4Ghz keep working if you turn OFF the Ring camera?
